Your News Olney win away at Oakmedians

Olney had a bus trip for their furthest trip of the season so far to Bournemouth on Saturday to play Oakmedians RFC, and on the back of their recent form they were hopeful for another promising result.

Though after a long drive south Olney didnt have the best start with the home side taking a strong lead 18-0. However, Olney managed to regroup and pull the score back to 18-18 just before the half time break after some strong work by the forwards, especially man of the match, Prop, Mike Ormesher proving to the home side they were not there to enjoy the Bournemouth weather, but up for the challenge of some hard playing rugby.

The second half reflected the first with both teams playing some good phases in both the backs and forwards, although it was Olney that stretched their lead to 18-32, before allowing the home side back into the game with a further two tries. Though fortunately for Olney in the closing minutes of play, the Oakmedians conversion was missed from in front of the posts leaving the final score 30-32, a good away win for Olney which could of so easily been a draw and with four tries being scored giving the additional bonus point leaving Olney three points clear at the top of the league with five wins from five games.
