Your News Cinderford 33 - Blaydon 26

After a disjointed first half in which they conceded 3 tries and then found themselves 30-9 in arrears, Blaydon almost pulled it back with a fantastic recovery. In the final 30 minutes they stormed though the home defence time and time again to score 3 tries of their own and reduced the deficit to just 7 points.

Further chances that should have clinched victory went begging however and in the end the difference between the sides was a 100% kicking record for Cinderford fly-half Mark Woodrow whilst Blaydon had failed with 2 conversions and a penalty.

Blaydon full-back Dan Kyle landed 3 penalties in the first half but Cinderford were the dominant force and deservedly scored the opener, an excellant effort from winger Nevaro Codlin. More missed tackles let in centre Paul Boston for a second score and then shortly after the restart back rower Francois Boer touched down when the Blaydon pack had been pushed back a considerable distance.

When Blaydon belatedly got their act together, mainly through the efforts of replacement centre Paddy Dias, it rapidly became one way traffic at the other end.

Kyle finished off a multi handling movement in the corner and then from some tremendous pressure No8 Gavin Jones found a gap to crash over from 15 metres.

A brilliant break down the middle gave Kyle his second but the winning score proved just beyond them and Blaydon were left to reflect on their disastrous first half performance.
